Episode 13 - February Journal Club

In today's episode, we are joined by a panel of simulationists from SDState, each bringing an article to share. The episode serves as a sort of virtual journal club. You will hear each panelist present a summary of their article, and then the simulationists have an engaging discussion regarding the article and its implications for current simulation practices and future research.

Episode 12: The Student Experience

In today's episode, we will hear from the students at SDState.  The panel includes representation from each of the 5 semesters of the undergraduate nursing program and each of our College of Nursing sites across the state.  The conversation features student perspectives about how simulation/on-campus clinical compares to off-campus clinical as well as what a psychologically safe learning environment means to them.  Come hear what the students have to say about what it's like to learn in our SSH-accredited multi-site healthcare simulation center.

Episode 11: Supporting Student Success

As the push for competency-based education increases, educators are looking for more tools to support student success through the application of learned concepts. Guests Amanda Melhaff and Deborah Venable from the SDState College of Nursing join us in this episode to discuss the use of experiential learning and simulation-based learning to support student success in the classroom and beyond. The available modalities used by the panel are diverse including the use of case studies and group learning in the classroom to the use of virtual modules and virtual reality in simulation.
